Don’t Miss the DDRC’s 2013 Holiday Open House!

DDRC-OpenHouse2013

Festive music, tasty treats, and a visit from ol’ Saint Nick in a winter wonderland … it truly is the most wonderful time of the year!

Come by the DDRC gymnasium (4646 Sarcee Road SW) on Thursday, December 5, and get into the holiday spirit with the employees and clients of the DDRC! Everyone is welcome to this free event; for more information call (403) 240-3111.

Hope to see you there!

It’s Beginning to Look a Lot Like … Craft Season!

It’s that time of the year again … the wonderful season where everything smells like cinnamon, and you find your tolerance for glitter is at an all-time high. That’s right — it’s Christmas Craft Fair Season!

For the second year in a row, the DDRC will be joining in on the holiday fun, and hosting a Christmas Craft Sale. The event will take place on Saturday, November 23rd, from 10:00 am – 3:00 pm. The DDRC gymnasium will once again be transformed into a festive marketplace hosting 40 vendors, each selling unique gifts. The homemade lunch and tea is also back by popular demand, so you can take a break from all of that shopping and enjoy what last year’s attendees were calling “the best quiche in the city” (but you’ll have to try it for yourself)!

Whether it’s handmade jewelry, knitwear, Tupperware, beauty products, or sweet and savoury treats, you’ll find something for everyone on your list (and maybe even a few somethings for yourself) at the DDRC Christmas Tea & Bazaar!

Admission is free, and there is plenty of on-site parking. Attendees are asked to use the 4646 Sarcee Road SW entrance.

Movies by Moonlight

In 2003, the DDRC’s social brand everyone belongs was launched. Ten years later this brand, which has since become the agency’s vision, is as relevant as ever: the belief that our communities are more vibrant, healthy, safe, strong, and satisfying when all people, regardless of ethno-cultural background, disability, age, sexual orientation, and socioeconomic class are welcome and to fully participate. What better way to recognize this milestone than to celebrate with our communities?

As summer is coming to an end, we are inviting you (and everyone you know!) to a free everyone belongs outdoor movie event! The evening will kick off with a short film from Picture This … on the Road (part of the Picture This Film Festival), followed by a full-length animated feature. So grab a blanket, some snacks, your kids, siblings, friends, grandparents, or neighbours, and join us for a night of fun under the stars!
